Dr. Luis

A veterinary surgeon: graduated from Paulista University – Universidade Paulista (UNIP) and has earned the Degree of Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M.) in 1998. Dr. Luis finished his Residence program in Internal Medicine, Surgery and Diagnostic Imaging in the Department of Veterinary Assistance (D.A.V.) at São Paulo Racetrack Hospital in January of 2000.

Hired as a veterinarian at the Jockey Club of São Paulo for more than 20 years, acting as official veterinarian at race meetings, head of internal medicine, master surgeon and, finally, as coordinator of the D.A.V. Doctor Luis also served as a technical consultant in internal medicine and surgery of Large Animals for The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in Center of Zoonoses Control of The São Paulo City Hall for 4 years.

Licensed as an FEI Permitted Treating Vet, he was a member of the Veterinary and Support Team for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. Member of the American Association of Equine Practioners (AAEP), British Equine Veterinary Association (BEVA), International Society of Equine Locomotor Pathology (ISELP) and AOVet, his main areas of interest are orthopedics, surgery, internal medicine and diagnostic imaging.
